The European Fundraising Association (EFA) is the umbrella association of fundraising associations across Europe. As Europe grows and develops, so does the European Fundraising Association. Discover in more detail who we are and what we strive to achieve.

Structure

Today there are associations from 16 countries in Europe that have joined the EFA in its mission of in the sharing and working together for “good fundraising practice”: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

The EFA is a voluntary representative body currently financed by various national fundraising associations, individual or private donations. It also receives European Union funds for very specific projects.

The GENERAL ASSEMBLY is the sovereign body of the EFA and the guardian of the statutes. Each member country is represented by one voting member and one alternate voting member. The General Assembly appoints the BOARD. The General assembly normally meets once a year, usually in November when the EFA Skillshare is held.

The European Fundraising Association (EFA) is directed and managed by its BOARD. Board members carry out their duties as volunteers. The board is empowered to decide how the statutes shall be interpreted, how they shall be applied to the Association’s conduct of its affairs and how matters not covered by either the law or the statutes shall be dealt with. From the directors, the Board designates a president, a vice-president and a treasurer. In 2006 the EFA hired its first part-time executive officer.
